Description

Glue obtained from rabbit skins, with excellent adhesive properties. Sets quickly, has little colour and odor. Rabbit glue is soluble in warm water to obtain a strong, traditional glue. Sets when cooled.
Rabbit glue solutions can be applied to any surface moistened with water. Rabbit glue solutions are reversible, it can be disassembled for repairs by soaking, and when the item is later glued together again, the new glue combines with the old glue.
Application:
in gilding, conservation of wall paintings, easel paintings – for making doubling mass, including making musical instruments (violin, cello, bass, viola, guitar, ukulele, etc.
How to use:
Dry glue should first be soaked in water for at least a few hours or left to soak overnight. About 1 part glue powder to 4-5 parts water. After the water is absorbed, add more water and gently heat the mixture in a water bath. The glue cannot be allowed to boil, as boiling will reduce the adhesive strength of the glue, and also do not heat the glue for a long time. During heating, the dry glue powder dissolves completely, forming a thick, syrupy liquid that can be strained into a clean glass jar. Use the glue warm and apply it with a brush. Gently stir the glue from time to time. Unused glue can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks and then reheated.
Remember! remelted glue is not as strong as freshly made glue.
If you keep the rabbit skin powder dry, it will probably last indefinitely.
